What God wants and what We want.

"Its not about the breaths you take but the moments that take your breath away..."

I love this quote because when I think about what its saying I think of all the awesome moments God has provided for us. When I go on vacation and see a sunset I think God painted that picture for me to experience and love every night. I think this is also the case with God and how much he loves and cares about each one of us. When we are in that moment thinking about how much God loves and cares for each one of us, it should take our breath away. God has a plan for each of our lives and If we follow him, and his path for us we will have the best life we can possibly have. There is a song that comes to mind every time I hear this quote and the name of it is INDESCRIBABLE.

This week I went to a Foursquare Youth Camp, I really didn't want to go. I went to camp anyway and we had a speaker named Tim Mossholder come and he talked about a different subject every night. The first night he talked about how we need to lean into Gods plan for our lives and not push away. It is so important that we follow and do what God wants us to do, and to live for him. It is also very very important not to push away from the plan God has for you. If we lean into God together as a group we can change the world and have the world THRIVE for God. God wants you to dig deep in his word, we learned in order to dig deep you have to:

To dig deep....

1. COME TO JESUS

2. LISTEN TO HIM

3. DO WHAT HE SAYS!

The second day some of us went to a worship workshop. I learned so much in this class, I really learned how to worship.

Worship is:

~PRAISE

~OPENING YOUR HEART TO GOD

~BEING ALL IN!

~BEING IN LOVE/AWE OF GOD

~EVERYTHING WE DO IN HIS NAME

~RESPONSE TO WHAT GOD IS DOING/SAYING IN OUR LIVES

We also learned that if we are going to be "all in" we need to tell God "Whatever you tell me to do I will do." We can't just say that and not mean it, it is such a big commitment you have to think if that's a decision you want to make. The way to worship is in SPIRIT and in TRUTH, to worship in Truth means to know who God is and to know the truth of what God has done. Worshiping in Spirit means to notice what God is doing to you RIGHT NOW!

Day 3 we talked about the gifts of the Holy Spirit, the Holy Spirit is already in us we just need to ask God for the gifts.

Three things tongues are NOT....

1. Evidence that someone is a better Christian

2. The only way to know if the Holy Spirit has come upon someone

3. The BEST gift

Five truths about tongues...

1. There's more than one kind of gift of tongues (1 Cor. 12:10) (1 Cor. 14:15)

2. It confirms that God gave you what HE promised. (Acts 10:44-46)

3. It builds up your faith every time you use this gift. (1 Cor. 14:4)

4. It enables you to pray and worship beyond your understanding (1 Cor. 14:15)

5. It's an easy gift to use (1 Cor. 14:32)

The last night of camp we talked about missions and God's calling for your life. People who dedicate their lives to help others thrive are the ones who really THRIVE.

The speaker told us there are three ways we discover God's calling on our lives:

1. Getting knocked off your donkey (God making it really clear to you) (Acts 9:3-6)

2. Invitation to join the work. ( Matthew 9:9)

3. Choosing to serve the Lord (1 Cor. 15:58)

Nothing we do for Jesus will be a waste of time or effort.

In a week we are having MEGA Sports Camp at our church for kids, I cant wait to pass on what I have learned. I can't wait to THRIVE in what God has showed me, I can't wait to pass on God's love to those children and show them how much God really loves them. I hope the moments next week will take mine and their breath away....
