The BILTMORE
Smokey Mountains:
Dollywood:
Hey Everyone :)
I missed blogging!! I am so excited I finally have internet :) When I lasted posted I was in Asheville, North Carolina at the Biltmore!! Well we have left Asheville and gone to a couple other places since then! We left Asheville on Wednesday and arrived in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee the same day. It was a short drive to Pigeon Forge only 2 hours, when we arrived at the campground we weren't sure if we were in the right place. There was a guy standing on the side of the road in the campground, so my Grandfather rolled down his window and asked him if we were in the right place he said " This will be the nicest campground you'll ever stay in." It looked like we were off to the good start! My Grandma and I were driving behind the RV as we were pulling into the side, this little old man came to our window and said " How big is that there slide? " My grandma told him and then he said "He backed that thing in there pretty good, you better get over there and make him dinner you hear?!" After we said goodbye to the little old man we went over to our site....we were right near the river! I was all ready to post my blog turned on my computer and guess what?! There was no internet!! I was not very happy! The next morning we got up and went to Gatlinburg, we walked around town, then went to the smokey mountains. We went to the visitors center to get some information about the mountains and what else we could do when we got up there. First I have to backtrack and give you some history about what were doing before we got to the visitors center. :) When we drive in the car we always have Lola (GPS) and she needs to be plugged into the power socket, Mama needed her phone plugged in also but we could only find one power socket. I decided to call Honda and ask where the second one was, while I was on the phone we parked and waited in the car while Mamma and Poppy went inside. Megan, Grandma and I finally found the power socket!! The power socket was in the back of the car!! We were standing there looking at it when this man and his wife walked out of the visitors center and to their car which was next to us, my Grandma thought it was my Grandfather so she YELLED: "KARL COME HERE AND LOOK AT THIS!!" all of a sudden she realized it wasn't my Grandfather! My sister was standing next to her so my Grandma put her arm around her and said: "KARLA LOOK AT THIS KARLA!!" to cover up her mistake!! She thought she was so quick! Since this happened Megan's new name is "KARLA". After we stopped laughing we started driving up the mountain, it is the highest peak in the smokey mountains 6,643 feet! When you get to the top you can walk up this huge hill (remember it is a mountain!) which is half a mile up and half a mile down 350 feet up from the parking lot! It was so hard, when we reached the top there was ice!! So this post isn't to long I am going to skip to the next day :) The next day we went to Dollywood! Dollywood was really fun! If you don't like country music you would hate this!! We got to see her tour bus, some really good shows and we went on a couple rides! There was this one show we went to that was amazing it was like a show at Disney only country! During the show they have gymnastics, singing, and they had acrobats flying above our heads! We also went to this country singing show, before the stars preformed this crazy lady came out..... she was called "the chicken lady" she had a hat on with eggs on it and feathers. She came out with a banjo and started singing whatever came to her mind (like my grandma) this guy walked in and he had sunglasses on so she started sining secret chicken man, secret chicken man!! Then she went around with this tiny plastic chicken and gave everyone "chicken kisses" if you don't believe she was this crazy you will have to go check it out! We went to dinner at the backstage restaurant it was so good! We just found out "Karla" (megan) is allergic to gluten, when we went into the restaurant we told them we need a gluten free menu. When we went to sit down the lady cleaned the table an extra time and gave us a new salt and pepper!! We ordered our food and it took forever to get our food because they were cooking "Karla" (megan's) food in a different place, when our food came out our waiter brought our food but a different lady brought " Karlas" food out! Talk about royalty! While we were eating dinner I looked across the room where the windows were and I saw a TAFFY KITCHEN!! I bet none of you know that Taffy is my favorite candy...but it has to be coconut or mint! Right after dinner I ran right over there to get some Taffy! I am not kidding you it was Taffy heaven!! There were so many different flavors it was crazy!!! We decided to go to another show after I got my taffy...the show was very good! The park closes at 6:00 and the show went until 6:45 when the show was over everyone went bolting out! We were gonna ride the tram back to the parking lot but the line was reallllllllyyyyyy longggg!! We decided to walk, we were in section D/E it was kinda a far walk!! OOops!! We got back to the RV and all crashed we were very very tired!! This morning we woke up and headed to Nashville! It was a great day!! Hope all of you have a great night! :) Talk to you tomorrow!
