I'm at the top of the world looking down on creation....

Where we are staying!

Little Old Man!

Hey Guys!! Today was a great day because we didn't have to drive anywhere! We got a rest from driving many hours! So today we were supposed to go to the Biltmore but we learned if you buy a ticket and go in at 4:00 pm the next day is free (we decided that was a good idea). This morning we woke up like normal but instead of having cereal or something quick, we had a nice big breakfast of eggs, bacon and toast! After that we drove to AAA because if you get a membership you can get the  tickets cheaper for some of the parks. We asked the guy there what we could do to kill time until 4:00 he told us we could go into the town and look around. After getting back in the car everyone said that they would rather do something else. The man from AAA gave us a map, so we looked at it to see what else we could do, we found the Blue Ridge Parkway (mountains) on the map! After putting the address in Lola (GPS) we started heading for the mountains! So there we were driving (this time in the car) on this REALLY curvy road that was not paved climbing up a mountain, it was so CRAZY! Finally we got to the "real" road that was paved! It was a gorgeous drive I got some GREAT pictures! Guess what is in the pictures?! I bet you can't guess haha!! Mountains!!!! :) You guys are going to be so sick of seeing mountains by the time this trip is over, I promise there will be pictures of other things though!! We got to the the top (or as far to the top that we were going to go) and decided to turn around so we wouldn't be late to go to the Biltmore at 4:00 pm. So here we are in a black CRV (five people in the car) driving down the mountain when all of a sudden we get stopped by a road crew sign holder man. We were sitting on this hill waiting for him to flip the sign over from STOP to SLOW, but it was taking forever! My Grandfather (aka Mr. Monk and if you don't know who that is you should look it up!) decided to shut the car off because god forbid we waste gas! Its a good thing he did though because the sign holder little old man guy came over to our window and said: "I reckon this could take a while.... they are putting that yellow stripe on the road.  That there truck up yonder has to come up this hill and after it comes up here, I reckon we have to wait until the paint dries, you don't want that there yellow paint on you black car I reckon." After the little old man sign holder guy let us through (it took a longgggg time!) my Grandma kept saying I reckon, until we got down the mountain! We were late getting back to the Biltmore but that was ok, we got in and gave them the tickets, went and parked and took the shuttle to the little town they have at the Biltmore. In the town we decided to go to the wine tasting, (meg and I couldn't participate though) when we got in the building they asked us if we would like a tour so we said yes. We took the tour and they showed us the wine cellar and stuff (it was kinda cool) then they took us to the wine tasting. My Grandparents and Mom were drinking wine and Meg and I were drinking grape juice.... It's all good though because I got some nice pictures :) Tomorrow we will be going back to the Biltmore to look at the house!! I am so excited!! You will definitely want to look at the pictures tomorrow, although I can't take any pictures of the inside! Talk to you all tomorrow! Have a great night! :)
